ABOUT
I fell in love with taking photographs when I was in college and just kept shooting. Manhattan from a helicopter, Bora Bora from an atoll, San Miguel d'Allende from the streets. It was there that I realized that of all the wonders on earth, capturing kindness can be the most fascinating.
My portraits have won awards and been exhibited in museum exhibitions; my travel work has been published in Gourmet magazine and the book Bermuda.
But what makes me happiest is that many of my clients tell me that my images are the favorite ones that they have - even several decades after I took them. I am now mostly working in altered states, creating a totally unique portrait with multiple layers of work and printed on unique substrates for a completely personal piece of art.
HOW AND WHERE
My photographic portrait work is mostly in black and white. I think it is timeless. But, it you would like color, I can shoot that, too.
I work on location, using natural light. I think people are more comfortable without flashing lights and artificial environments. I’m based out of Kent Island, Maryland, but am happy to have commissions farther afield.
My sessions are about simplicity so that the sitter relaxes. Then, I bring them home and create your unique piece.
We can talk about the types of images you are looking for, the size of the final image and other details when we talk about your commission.
DAY OF THE SHOOT
I’ll shoot as long as the sitter is willing.
Sometimes, we nail it in ten minutes and sometimes it takes longer. But I don’t stop until I’m convinced I have the images I’d like to work with.
DELIVERY
This will depend on how many images and what type of work is being done.
